Year 10 Praised for Windermere Jetty Project

Our Year 10 Graphic Products students have won heaps of praise for their creative work on a special competition for a new tourist attraction for the Lakes.

The students have been working on the project with  Lakeland Arts for their new Windermere Jetty museum  that opens later this year.

Lakeland Arts asked the students to develop ideas for products that could be sold in the Jetty's shop, with a specific brief to appeal to younger visitors.

So the students in Mrs Merritt's class created a stunning collection of 'Shop Till You Drop' prototypes, such as  bags and bookmarks, jigsaws and games.

The winning design was a keyring idea from Dom  Easterby that matches the architect's designs for the Jetty's new buildings.

And the runner-up was Sarah Whittaker who created a fun  puzzle game using wood, plastic and perspex.

All the students involved were congratulated this week in a special assembly with Helen Parr from the Lakeland Trust, who said working with QES has been a real pleasure!
