Modern Languages Bake Off!
Year 8 have just created these stunning cakes in our first ever Great Modern Foreign Languages Bake Off !
Organised by Miss Whyte and Miss Bradshaw in aid of Morecambe Homeless Action and Kendal Food Bank, the competition challenged our Languages students to make cakes with a suitably international feel.
Our student bakers then absolutely outdid themselves and created some amazing cakes, including delicate French macarons, handmade Italian pannetone and an indulgent German Black Forest gateau, to name just a few!
Judges Miss O'Neill and Miss Govan then had an almost impossible task but finally awarded 'Star Baker' to Emily Dixon in 8S for her pannetone, given its technical difficulty and delicious, light flavour.
Thank you to Year 8 for your pioneering enthusiasm! The competition also raised £138.00, which has been donated to Morecambe Homeless Action and Kendal Food Bank.
Thanks to Miss Bradshaw for the photos.
