One Hectic Week!
Colleagues worked incredibly hard over the holidays training to enable us to open the Sports Hall as a Testing Centre on Monday morning.
On Monday all staff were tested, and those children attending the on site provision have also all been testing. This will now continue on a weekly basis.
Week beginning 4th January the children in school have been following a modified timetable, depending on class sizes but from the week beginning 11th January pupils will be working in small groups accessing the online learning provision. If any of these children are later identified as close contacts, we would then test them daily so they could still access the support in school. We ask staff and parents to consent before taking the test.
Children not in school are now accessing our online provision – see email to parents and carers sent 7th January along with details on the website. For QES email, click here (PDF). For QEStudio email, click here (PDF).
We very much hope that children are forming good daily routines and are up, dressed and ready to learn every school day and following the online learning through Teams. Parents and pupils should let us know if they need any further support with it or have any concerns. We will be monitoring the engagement of pupils in school.
We await news about the Year 13 and Year 11 exam situation. We are very aware how unsettling and stressful this is for these students and will do all we can to process systems with integrity and support for the young people in our care.
Understandably schools are responding to this late change differently both in our locality and nationally, but we do feel that what we hope to achieve will be appropriate for our context and have staff and pupil well-being at its heart.
We want to assure you we are working hard to develop this provision and we are immensely grateful for the support we have been receiving as well as the positive ways in which staff, parents and pupils have engaged with this change.
Thanks again for all your support and patience this week.
