Hello, I’m Abby and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the QES community.
I have been at QES since Year 7. Since then I have received so much support and encouragement during my time here, leading me to pursue my interests. This was especially important for me in the sciences, and now I hope to continue studying this at university. I would not change my journey through QES: it’s been full of enjoyment, laughter and discoveries. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to help out at numerous QES events, my favourite being open evenings and having the pleasure to show potential students and parents around the school. Since undertaking the role of head girl have had the opportunity to help create a video for new prospective students in hope of giving them a feel of life here at QES as well as having many meetings and discussions with the members of the Sixth Form Leadership Team and staff about how to further improve the QES experience for years to come.
The main piece of advice that I would give to students, would be to encourage you to get involved wherever possible. Whether that is in clubs, school events or simply putting your hand up in lessons, getting involved in the QES community will help you gain confidence and create new skills. Take each opportunity as it comes, reaching out your comfort zone and even finding new friends and interests along the way!
I am definitely disheartened that this is my last year here at QES but also I’m excited for my future. Even though this year may be different to those previous, I will continue to enjoy each day till I leave and take all the skills I have gathered here at QES into my future endeavours. Finally, I hope that when I have left future students will enjoy their time here as much as I have, and with this I wish them the best of luck.
