A Special Update
Since its introduction in 2009, the Paul Percy Memorial Fund has helped to support individual pupil expeditions to Morocco, South America, the Himalayas, the Arctic, paid for a mountain guide to help two students develop their climbing skills in the Alps as well as some activities a little closer to home.
However, the last pupils that knew Paul as a teacher left QES in July 2015 and we felt that a new direction was appropriate and the PPMF has now closed.
It has been decided that the remaining funds will be donated to the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue as they were heavily involved in the rescue/recovery process following Paul’s tragic accident whilst walking in the Langdales in January 2009.
We would like to thank all the staff, pupils and parents that have supported the PPMF especially those involved in the two Bob Graham relay events. Thank you also to the QES Charity Team for the financial support and for future fundraising for the LAMR.
