The transition from Daleswear to Monkhouse as retailer of QES uniform has been difficult to say the least.
Some parents have contacted us to outline their concerns over the summer. Whilst we have provided a personal service to those with particular issues to resolve, parents were also questioning the school's decision making around the issue of uniform: some revisiting the debate we had several years ago around the issue of badged kit; some wondering why we had changed to a company that sells on line and on school based sell days; some expressing very strong views around pricing.
We have gone to the unusual step of producing this detailed account of events over the past year so that parents can have a complete picture.
The review was scrutinised by the Governors' Community Committee on 1st October 2013. The governors wanted us to let you know that they fully supported the school's uniform policy, in particular the decision to have badged kit in order to support student welfare. They are also supportive of the arrangements that have been put in place since the need to introduce a new retailer.
We continue to be extremely appreciative of the efforts our parents make to support standards in school, especially with the less than straightforward matter of acquiring uniform.
